Eric officially became a member of the 'Icebergers' in 2007 after a bet with Yvonne who said that he couldn't stick it out for a Melbourne winter and compete in the 'Harry Raisbeck' winter mile . Despite not having the natural 'padding' of some of the other swimmers in the group, Eric stuck it out for the winter and sucessfully completed  the Harry Raisbeck swim that year. He is still with us today.

- Eric was a very competitve pool swimmer, training with some of the top squads in Victoria.
- Sucessfully completed the Pier to Perignon swim classic.
- Sucessfully completed the 2007'Harry Raisbeck'winter mile swim classic.
- Competed in numerous open water events in Victoria over the years.
