Sally started ocean swimming back in Sydney in 2001 with the Bondi Cole Classic and completed most of the ocean swims in that part of the world but was shocked, when moving to Melbourne, to find that most ocean swimmers in Victoria were all wet suit wearers. Having swum as a kid on the Yorkshire coast and in Scottish lochs, was also fascinated by this idea of winter swimming and completed (not without fear and trepidation) her first winter long-course with Black- Ice in June 2010. She also successfully completed 'Harry Raisbeck 'winter mile swim classic that year and has done 2 winter pier to pubs including the Black-Ice double in 2011.
Fastest swim was 'Terry's' Pier to Perignon.
Longest swim is the 8km Cohuna Bridge to Bridge swim.
Favourite, Rottnest Island relay swim 2010.
Goal for 2012, Bloody Big Swim. Just annoying that 'Queen of the Water' Yvonne enters my age category the week before the event!!
