Our aim is to encourage the participation in the sport of open water swimming as well as to promote the benefits of 'ice-berging'. We offer support and advice to anyone preparing for an open water swimming event.
Our swimmers have achieved some of the most gruelling open water events in the world. The English Channel, Rottnest Island Swim Classic and The Cook Strait. We currently have 10 sucessfull English Channel swimmers in our group.
What we love about cold water swimming

To become an official member of the Black Rock Icebergers (Black-Ice) you need to complete a circuit of the long course at Brighton Baths during winter. (Approx 3 km) Water temp must be at or below 10 degrees celcius. Regardless of this, anyone is welcome to come down and join us for training. (See training times)
